The Discord server on our topic for getting involved

The Gesundheitsspanne Discord server is for everyone who wants to exchange views on and find out about our topic. Here you can ask questions and help to advance our topic faster through public outreach. The server is also open to people who are not party members. Party work is only one of the topics. Other topics include, for example, the association work of GFAF e.V. and general public outreach independent of the party.

Below, some of the current main contributors of the Gesundheitsspanne Discord server introduce themselves. Among other things, they can also answer your questions and, if applicable, assign you tasks if you want to help:

Moritz Pohl

Hello, I'm Moritz, 20 years old and from Austria. In 2021 I stumbled upon the topic of rejuvenation research on the internet when, out of curiosity, I was searching for scientific approaches to immortality. Since then I have been involved in public outreach for the topic, because I see every day that aging causes immense suffering and severely limits people. That is also why I am studying molecular biosciences, so that I can later contribute directly to the development of medicine.

Early on, I noticed how much others grieved over the loss of their loved ones because the time they had spent together in good health had been too short. That shook me deeply.

Because the most valuable thing there is for me is the time spent with the people close to me. And I want this time to no longer have to be limited, for me and for others.

I started to think about death and eventually came across rejuvenation research. That is how I learned how scientifically sound ways of extending the healthy lifespan can be developed.

When I tried to talk to people about aging and death, I found that these topics were mostly pushed aside. They evaded my questions with irrational answers, because they accepted age-related death as a given and did not yet know anything about the research in this field.

That is why I have been on the Discord server "Gesundheitsspanne" since April 2022 and have been actively involved in more public outreach on rejuvenation research, for example via the Instagram account @verjuengungsforschung.

Steffen Alber

Hey, my name is Steffen and I'm 25 years old. I completed a bachelor's degree in nanoscience in Tübingen. Now I am studying media and communication informatics, because I have become more interested in social innovation projects that apply existing research and knowledge and that address communicating science and ethics to the public. I also joined the association GFAF e.V. to learn more about decentralized non-profit organizations and about how to communicate science effectively in order to bring about lasting social change.

I am interested in the topic of longevity research because it promotes an understanding of the factors that contribute to a healthier life and leads people to make more conscious decisions about their own health and lifestyle. In addition, when people live longer and longer, the long-term and sustainable thinking of the individual is encouraged, and the currently widespread attitude "Take what you can get before you depart this life" becomes rarer.

Marcus Beyer

Hi! Marcus, 51, living near Freiburg (BW). I completed a degree in computer science with a minor in theoretical medicine at the University of Dortmund. In Freiburg I work as a software developer for a contract research institute (Clinical Research Organization). I have been interested in rejuvenation research at the latest since the moment I was hit by my first age-related disease. I am currently plagued by my second "frozen shoulder". So it can't happen fast enough!

Maximilian Mosbacher

Hello, my name is Max, I'm 19 years old, and I came across the topic of rejuvenation research through de Grey's talks. Since then, I have been fascinated by the idea of bringing aging under medical control, and I am committed to making sure that this ambitious undertaking receives more public attention, so that in the nearest possible future therapies can be made available that prevent the suffering of aging, probably the worst disease of all.

Hey, I'm Julian, 23 years old, from Saxony, and I study media informatics. Since I was 14, I have been thinking more and more about aging and death. In my opinion, life is far too short. Because I want to help reduce suffering in the world, I have been campaigning for more rejuvenation research for about two years.

Peter Mehr

Hello, I'm Peter, 45 years old, and I became aware of the topic of rejuvenation research through Ray Kurzweil. Because at that time there was still fairly little information on this topic available in the German-speaking world, I created the website "ewigjung.net", which gives a basic overview of knowledge, implementation and technology as well as of philosophical questions. This led to contact with the GFAF association and also with the party. I also enjoy looking into the approaches of Aubrey de Grey and other researchers in this field, and I look forward to discussing them with you on our Discord server.

Johannes Häfner

Hi, I'm Johannes, 24 years old, I live in Bonn and I'm currently in the first year of my apprenticeship as an IT specialist in application development. A few years ago, I came across the topic of "rejuvenation research" through a TED talk by Aubrey de Grey. A little later, I saw an election poster of the party in Hamburg. I only joined the party about a year later, because I am cautious at first when it comes to such big and political topics. Over the course of my short life as an adult, however, I have realized that the topic of rejuvenation research has top priority for me. Right after that, for me, come the problem areas of climate change and social inequality.

What interests me in particular about the topic of rejuvenation research is the non-technical side. By this I mean everything that has nothing to do with the actual research on the medicine and the therapies. This includes, for example, all the concerns and objections that first come to mind when you learn about this topic; for example overpopulation, weighing up freedoms, social inequality among patients of rejuvenation therapies and much more. Feel free to come to the Discord and let's discuss it. I am always open to questions and constructive criticism. On Discord you can find me under the tag JimmyTheOrangePumpkin#2260.

Felix Werth

Hi, I'm Felix, I have a master's degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor's degree in biosciences, and from 2015 I was the chairman of the Party for Rejuvenation Research for many years. I have been actively campaigning for rejuvenation research since 2012, when I happened to learn on YouTube about Aubrey de Grey's repair approach and about the fact that we have a chance to greatly extend our lifespan in the near future through future medicine. I want to help accelerate the development of such medicine.
