Now that we could be close to a point where every individual has the opportunity, through rejuvenation medicine, to live for thousands of years in the best of health, it can be particularly hard for some people if they belong to practically the last generation that is forced to die of aging. Cryonics gives these people a chance to experience, after all, the future in which aging is curable. No one knows how great the chance is that cryonics works. But one thing is certain: if, after your death, you are buried or cremated instead of being cryopreserved, you have no chance of experiencing this future world.

In cryonics, a person's body is cooled down to -196 degrees Celsius after their death and then stored at this temperature in liquid nitrogen, for as long as it takes until future technologies make it possible to "revive" this person, that is, for example, to cure the disease this person died of and to rejuvenate this person. If one assumes that a person's consciousness arises from the structure of their brain, it should probably be possible in the future to restore consciousness if the structure of the brain is preserved. And since at -196 degrees the structure practically does not change over time, one can wait at this temperature until the technologies are sufficiently advanced.

Worldwide, thousands of people have already signed up for cryonics, and hundreds have already been "frozen".
