Scientific Papers
- López-Otín, C., Blasco, M. A., Partridge, L., Serrano, M., & Kroemer, G. (2013). The Hallmarks of Aging Europe PMC Funders Group. Cell June, 6(1536), 1194-121705.
This scientific paper, published in Cell in 2013, describes the repair approach. - Baker, D. J., Childs, B. G., Durik, M., Wijers, M. E., Sieben, C. J., Zhong, J., ... Van Deursen, J. M. (2016). Naturally occurring p16 Ink4a -positive cells shorten healthy lifespan. Nature, 530(7589), 1-5.
- Naylor, R. M., Baker, D. J., & van Deursen, J. M. (2013). Senescent cells: a novel therapeutic target for aging and age-related diseases. Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 93(1), 105-16.
These papers deal with the removal of senescent cells. These are cells that have aged to the point where they have lost their original function. In mice, health in old age improves greatly when senescent cells are removed from the body. Several companies now want to use this finding to develop medicine that removes senescent cells in humans. One of these companies is Unity (https://unitybiotechnology.com/). One of the investors in Unity is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

A very extensive list of companies working to implement parts of the repair approach. - Longevity Escape Velocity (LEV) Foundation
- PRIMA - Longevity Policy Institute
PRIMA gGmbH (Prävention & Innovation in Medizin und Altern) is a non-profit longevity policy institute based in Cologne, founded by Alexander Tietz-Latza. It aims to bring findings from aging research into German health and prevention policy, prepares position papers and talks to members of parliament and ministries. - The Longevity Initiative
Independent think tank based in the UK, co-founded by science writer Andrew Steele ("Ageless"). It produces policy briefs and educational material to advance research into healthy longevity. - Lifespan Research Institute (formerly SENS Research Foundation and LEAF)
The SENS Research Foundation (SRF) (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SENS_Foundation) was a non-profit organization working in its own laboratories to implement the most difficult parts of the SENS repair approach. In 2024 it merged with LEAF (Lifespan.io) to form the Lifespan Research Institute. - Scientific Advisory Board of the Lifespan Research Institute
- Forever Healthy Foundation
- Forever Healthy Knowledge Base
The Forever Healthy Knowledge Base explains in detail (in English) what you can already do today to extend your healthy lifespan. - The Parkinson Terminator-Projekt42
"PARKINSON TERMINATOR-PROJECT has set itself the task of clarifying the causes of Parkinson's disease and the disease mechanism within the framework of a large international project, comparable to the Human Genome Project, and of making a causal therapy available before the end of 2030." - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Alternsforschung e.V.
"Without victory over the diseases of aging, our society has no future: therapies must target aging itself" "...Age-related diseases are the real powder keg that needs to be defused. Because only if the health problems of aging are solved can the period of healthy aging be extended and participation in society remain possible. Rapid progress in aging research gives reason to hope that healthy aging can succeed and that age-related diseases can be prevented. To meet these challenges, massive investment in biomedical aging research is indispensable today." - FIGHT AGING!
Very extensive blog in English about news in aging research. - LEAF (in English)
The non-profit organization LEAF does public outreach for more research against age-related diseases. The website contains a great deal of information on the topic. - LEAF's Rejuvenation Roadmap
LEAF's Rejuvenation Roadmap shows promising repair therapies that are currently in development, and their development progress. - Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing
- The CECAD Cluster of Excellence
The CECAD Cluster of Excellence is an interdisciplinary research network in the Cologne-Bonn area that studies the causes of the aging process and of aging-associated diseases. "The vision of CECAD is to derive from this new clinical therapies for the entire spectrum of aging-associated diseases such as cancer, diabetes, stroke, kidney failure or neurodegenerative disorders." - CECAD promotional film
- Leibniz Institute on Aging - Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI)
"Since 2004, our aim has been to understand the molecular mechanisms that underlie the human aging process and lead to age-related diseases. Research at the FLI will lay the knowledge base for the development of therapies that contribute to a healthy aging process in humans and to the prevention of age-related diseases." - ewigjung.net
Lots of information on the topic. - German Society of Anti-Aging Medicine e.V.
- Gesellschaft für gesundes Altern und Prävetion e.V.
- Newsletter from HEALES: NEWSLETTER FROM BRUSSELS: THE DEATH OF DEATH
- Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Alternsforschung (GFAF e.V.)
- Longevity List
"Longevity List's mission is to connect passionate people with companies working on humanity's most important problem: Biological aging." - International Longevity Alliance (ILA) (in English)
"Our Vision 'To create the world where every person can obtain healthy longevity and ageing control through innovative technologies.'" "Our Mission 'To promote the advancement of healthy longevity for all people through scientific research of ageing biology, development of new drugs and therapies, their fast implementation, improvement of public health policy in the field of ageing control, and education.'"
